Yes Goff hasn’t played great the last few games, but he is without a doubt my QB. Everything will settle in like it should.

Respect to Goff fans sticking with him, I was the same way with Stafford for his whole time here.

Goff is good, but we don’t have to decide anything right now. If he gets us a playoff win then pay the man.

That fumble where he ran but didn’t tuck the ball was so bad. No veteran QB should be making that play. His turnovers have been hell, he’s gotta make better decisions.

Offensive struggles are on the Oline, we all knew Goff needed a clean pocket to perform surgery 🤷‍♂️

The thought was always. Goff isn’t great but he takes care of the football. Soooo, obviously can’t do much worse than the last 2 games. 11 turnovers already. Not good.

Goff looked tired from the quick turnaround between this game and the Bears game. And most of the issues on the secondary can be chalked up by injuries and poor zone coverage as a result of this.

Goff can recover from this, and I know that he is still our franchise QB no matter what.

Goff needs to practice running in the off-season. I have said that since he was drafted in 2016. He needs to practice running. He needs to take sprinting class. Sick of mobile QB and Goff can’t move nor run inside or outside the pocket.

Word to the wise OP, if you like Goff, DO NOT come to the game day threads, holy shit.

Its already toxic AF, but recently, Hazmat suits only.

Bro, 6 turnovers in 2 games. I’m not going to sit here and defend that shit. Goff has been absolute dog shit the last 2 games. Signing him to an extension before we’ve even won a playoff game yet? Wtf lol. Better yet we haven’t even MADE the playoffs yet.

We still haven’t won a playoff game since the 90s and people want an extension on a QB that cannot handle the pressure when the O line is garbage.

And it’s not like his turnovers have been close or anything. They’ve been entirely bad passes or bad fumbles. Nothing tipped or contested. Just straight to the other team.

I do believe in this team and think we can right the ship BUT we need to call out or players playing like shit sometimes. I’m not going to say Jared Goff is amazing and I love him after he has 3-4 turnovers every single game. That’s just weird.

And the game before those 2 he played excellent in a shootout against Justin Herbert. He’ll be fine.

We’ve seen Goff’s ceiling. Where does that put the Lions ceiling?

People have bad streaks. They have to last longer than this for me to abandon ship. I was never a Goff guy but he played well for a year leading up to these last couple games so he has earned the benefit of the doubt

I am historically a Goff skeptic but have been won over by his improved play over the last year. But I think my long term concern with him that he doesn’t really have a second option in the play when the first playcall doesn’t work is still relevant. I don’t mean going from his first read to his second, which he can clearly do. I mean that when a team blows up the play as called with pressure or coverage, that’s it for Goff. When he presses because his plays as called aren’t there, he makes mistakes that kill this team. Other teams have quarterbacks who have second or even third answers because they have the mobility to keep plays alive.

The Lions can win with Goff but in the modern NFL, there is a ceiling to his kind of play, and it depends so much on the offensive line and how well they keep Goff clean. When they experience injuries and slumps like they have recently, the whole thing falls apart.

I really do think we need to brace ourselves for the Lions decided Goff is their Alex Smith and he gives them a very solid floor but they have legitimate concerns about their ceiling. I think these last few games should be a reminder that it is a legitimate conversation with no easy answers.
