Haven’t watched the newest special, but I’m assuming Cartman is representing overly sensitive “anti-woke” people

Cartman is a fictional character - he’s not real and has no obligation to be a moral barometer or even be ideologically consistent. Matt and Trey will have him say and hold whatever viewpoints they think are funny - they’re not tacky ham fisted writers like a lot of modern audiences want who will only use him to be the opposite side of what they consider “correct”.

Like hippies aren’t suddenly great just because Cartman hates them. Family Guy’s righting isn’t suddenly deep because he thinks it’s shallow.

I like how people are gatekeepers over South Park and what their politics are. Reminds me of the Tale of Scrotie Mcboogerballs episode when right and left interpret the book in their favor.

Eric Cartman had a point with that Christian rock band.

This is exactly why I love South Park. Everybody is stupid, no one is safe.

Imo I felt the message was kinda all over the place

At first it seems like Cartman was just exaggerating because he’s a racist sociopath

…until he legit gets replaced by a black woman

And then like 12 other things happen and it honestly felt like this special had way too many ideas and couldn’t commit to them

This is probably a hot take since this is the south park sub but people who act like South Park is the source of their politics or it’s super deep philosophically are pretty silly. It’s a really funny show that’s makes good points sometimes but that’s about it. At the end of the day it’s just a silly comedy show.
