Depends on traffic. Other then that it’s usually blipping down on turns, the shift to second is a harsh uprev. The manual transmission is more fun on spirited drives, nothing beats a the need to heel and toe.
Did the one in Vegas a few years back with a Lamborghini Gallardo. The laps go by quick. About the time you get a feel for the car it’s over. Like the 3 dances in a private room at strip club package. (Or so I’m told.)
Toyota has ridiculous reliability and durability. Top Gear had an old SR5 truck mounted on their wall they were able to get running with a set of “basic tools” after putting it on a roof of a building and the demolition team blowing up the building.
Drive around with a cat in it and work on the personality maybe? Be the porcupine, not the Porsche owner.
I appreciate mine. Is yours a GT or GTS?
Kathleen Kennedy: it’s going to be a good harvest…
I admire the effort. Someone put in the time and money into this labor of love. I just don’t think I’d have the stones to adopt it. Maybe under circumstances they wouldn’t agree to, like half down for 3 months or 5k miles to get to know it, with a blackout clause. Also an if you break or bend it you buy it clause for them to feel better about it. Also a direct line to the builder/ seller for when/ if it acts up. 3 months to shake it down would be fair to both parties.
I have a period correct tear down/repainted 928 that still gives me electrical fits on the left side of the car to this day. Now that the days are getting shorter, it’s a daytime only car until I isolate this stupid grounding point. These early gen relays are interesting, I feel like the Dad on Christmas Story replacing fuses…
What’s the seller calling it?
Brought to you by Carls Jr…
That sucks, electrical or mechanical? On top of the routine stuff- timing belt/ water pump/ tensioner/ a/c?
Good eye. It is. We love the 80’s around here.
Liberty Liberty Liiiberty…. Hagerty for the old fart cars.
