Given or pick is protected threw the next 3 years giving up a higher pick in a weak draft is not the worst idea. Markannen would be a better fit and allow us to stay competitive. He is only 26 years old and fits the timeline. We trade siakim a better player to a 3rd team whixh then ships assets to Utah. Our core would be Markannen OG Barnes. Which is a good one to build around with all the players being under 26 ( 22-25-26)

    Sadly Siakam expiring is only worth body and pick. A team wants to make a playoff run will basically upgrade Siakam for whoever they trade away. Basically we get a bunch of bodies or a bad contract and picks. We are getting even salary exchange but not talent.

    Unless some team wants to build a franchise around him right now they would just wait for free agency.

    Lauri was probably attainable before he got to Utah, on CHI he wasn’t playing much, but obviously many teams missed him except for Utah
