Think it’s so interesting that we have this most hyped since Lebron prospect in Wemby, and then we have a similar type build In Chet who is probably getting 20% of the attention. If you watch them both, it’s not even close right now with Chet being better at basically everything. Of course this is only 15 games into their careers but I’m curious if Chet ends up being quite a bit better than Wemby.

It’s funny you think that. Most “prominent” people of the game would tell you otherwise, especially if you watch them and ignore the stat sheet (although even that shows Wemby as arguably the better player). Just look at the opposing teams. We already see players going at Chet. With Wemby, they clearly want nothing to do with him, and often hesitate to even shoot if he’s nearby. This is a 19yr old, mind you. Thunder fans don’t want to hear it when people call out that this is technically Chet’s sophomore year. I can only imagine how good Wemby will be his second year in the league. He’s growing game by game. With what he’s doing and the numbers he’s putting up on such a lackluster team that doesn’t even have a true pg, Wemby clears easily. But hey…at least Chet has a nice shot.

Thunder are winning games. I enjoy watching the games. I don’t care how other people rank them.

If anyone had any backbone they’d have made some kind of statement on the fact that Chet is the superior player right now and unless Wemby improves quite a bit over the season he is by no means looking to be the most deserving ROTY.

I think most analysts are being a bit cautious in letting Wemby get settled, and that plays into it, but yeah the conversation should really shift towards Chet.

Im honestly sick of the debate. Just let em play. As a team we are doing much bigger things than deciding a rookie of the year debate. Fuck it Cason should win it lol we dont need a media pundit to tell us what we’re seeing for ourselves.

To speak to OP’s concern, the Thunder aren’t on national TV as much s the Spurs. Spurs got what? 19 of them??? Thunder has 13. Of course, team can get flex’d, but as of right now, more casual fans have seen Wemby than Chet.

Nothing we can change about that unless Wemby gets injured or the Thunder gets more games somehow.

Chet is on a better team that’s trying to win. Not saying that completely disqualified Chet from being better, but it can’t be overstated how valuable guys like SGA and JDub are for Chet.

Wimby’s starting PG is Jersmy Sochan and he’s playing an un-ideal position. Spurs are sacrificing efficiency and wins for development

Vecenie ranked Chet as the best in his rookie rankings, writing out quite a few paragraphs on why he’s currently the clear cut best in the class thus far.

    But does it matter?

They have basically identical counting stats, Chet is like 2 years older and plays with an MVP level guard and an actual team. He’s good, but is he obviously head and shoulders over Wemby already? Doubt
