So the last two threads (Most disappointing game) and (most disappointing game you actually like) made me think of this and the game that came to mind for me was Forspoken.

Frey was just such a horrid, shitty character but I am having a blast otherwise with the game. Yeah, sure the open world is lifeless but the game directly addresses that.

The magical parkour system is amazing. The story itself isn’t that bad, and I like all of the support characters but Frey herself is just so… Toxic that she ruins the fun every time she opens her mouth.

If Frey was replaced, I would see this 6 out of 10 as more of an 8.

So which games do you all feel would be better with a different main character?

    Genshin Impact would be way better if Paimon were completely removed. Since she does all of the communicating I would say that qualifies her as the MC

    Main character in front mission 3.

    One route has him literally be an idiot, other makes him refuse to use basic logic (look mate, if there is an explosion and your sister might have been caught in it, it’s not helpful for you to go on rampage in state of the art combat mech)

    The protagonist of Days Gone was so unlikable. The rest of the game was fantastic, but his whiny weird mumblings put me off all the time
