Creating all kinds of havoc and disruption against the bengals and I can’t help but be jealous. I know he’s technically an OLB so maybe it not a fair comparison, but he’s constantly lining up as an edge rusher. Hutch is not on this level of elite yet, I’m hopeful he will get there (he has all the potential), but he needs more help from the other side and up the middle to get there. We need more QB pressure in the worst way! Not offering any solutions, just an observation, hoping for more from our defense

Looking back at it in hindsight. Detroit sports could have had some great years if we just drafted elite.players when they were right on the board, for us to take. Instead we passed on so many. Lions and pistons I’m looking at y’all.

I don’t want to shit on Hutch. He’s going to be a great player for us. But when you watch Crosby, Watt, Bosa, etc. They all play with WAY more violence than Hutch, and they get chipped and doubled just as much, if not more.

You are right, I reread your comment in full and you were not having a go at him. I have removed my comment as result. My bad

I hate comments like this because you can’t compare a 2nd year player to 4 year Vets wait until his 3rd or 4th year to say sum like this

Yes, Hutch is not on this level. But that’s okay, that would be an outrageous expectation. The D-Line really needs help and that’s the main issue.

I don’t think Hutch has the same speed to power explosiveness that TJ Watt has. Hutch relies more heavily on his hands and agility to get past blockers whereas Watt can do that plus blow up blockers at the point of attack.

I think Hutch is still going to be a very disruptive pass rusher for us but until he gets someone who can contain the other side of the pocket he’s going to continue to have to chase down mobile QBs without much help.

Hutch may never be as good as Watt and that’s okay. Watt will be a HOFer one day and is arguably the best player in all of football who isn’t a QB.

Hutch does need help though. Badly. Would have liked Sweat and would have dealt a 2nd for him.

I remember wanting to draft him so bad and we took Jarrad Davis instead.
