- money is not an issue
- never will use it for gaming, just excel and opening 200+ tabs on chrome.
- worried if I get the i9, the arctic freezer II 360 aio, plus four additional 140mm fans won’t be able to cool the 14900. I want idle speeds to be under 40c and never go above 60c when using it.
- I understand that I don’t even need an i7 or i9, I do it because I wanna have to PC for the next ten years and have no problems and because I can. “Futureproofing for these basic functions”
- will I notice any differences between the 14900 and 14700 when opening chrome? Will have 64gb of ram.

I have a 14700k and you are going to go over 60c with that cooler. I do with a custom water loop and a 420mm radiator. I’m adding another radiator soon.
Get a Xeon workstation and never look back.
I’ve got a 44 core Xeon, 1TB of RAM. Never have to worry about anything. If money is no object, go with the Xeon and fill it with RAM.
I have a 12900k with 2x16 GB RAM and 4090 will upgrade to 2x48gb and i often use over 200+ Tabs in chrome. Not all Excel but some are. 12900k i no problem for it so 14700k should be fine but If money doesn’t matter go AMD Threadripper with 2x 64 core CPU
Just get 192+ GB DDR5 Ram. 1 GB per tab should be fine.
