I was showing my deck of to a family member over a video call and dropped it on the ground with a usb-c to USB-a adapter with a wireless mouse dongle in it and it seems to have pushed in. Its still charging but not outputting video through my dock and having some other issues with individual cord., I’m wondering if this is a problem that I can maybe fix myself with some really small pliers? Or if I should look into sending my deck in for repairs through valve or some electronic repair shop near me, any advice is super appreciated

Yikes. You likely damaged something. A couple solder contacts probably broke off or something if you can still charge but lost the ability to connect to your external display.

Depending on your skills, you might be challenged with something beyond just moving the port around with pliers. You’ll likely need to resolder a few contacts, and that’s if the USB-C port isn’t itself damaged.

You could maybe open it up and see for yourself just to check. But I would never recommend just trying to yank on the USB-C port with pliers… that’s just not going to make anything better.

Okay thanks so much, I’m going to contact valve support and see if I can send it in for repairs
