Yikes. You likely damaged something. A couple solder contacts probably broke off or something if you can still charge but lost the ability to connect to your external display.
Depending on your skills, you might be challenged with something beyond just moving the port around with pliers. You’ll likely need to resolder a few contacts, and that’s if the USB-C port isn’t itself damaged.
You could maybe open it up and see for yourself just to check. But I would never recommend just trying to yank on the USB-C port with pliers… that’s just not going to make anything better.
