Small rant. Just played Tank. Got told I was horrible despite protecting team, pushing back enemies, going into overtime at every point (team just couldn’t pull it off), having decent elim count, lowest deaths, damage almost more than combined dps, more than triple mitigation than opposing team combined, and getting endorsed by two other teammates.
Honestly, the trolls who unwarrantedly attack Tanks ruin the game more than reducing Tank roles from 2 to 1.
That’s why I just mute everybody. Mute chat, mute voice.
I play and do my thing, some games I win some games I lose.
I always remind people who shit talk me that they got matched with me, so they must suck too.
Thanks for summarizing the game instead of just putting a ss. But also, if you know he’s trolling, and you factually did well, what’s the problem? The Internet has assholes. You just have to ignore them
Honestly for me it’s usually the tank being mean to the rest of the team
I think a decent amount of Mercy players experience some degree of toxic tanks just because they feel your presence less usually compared to an Ana for example. Mercy just isn’t fantastic for tank heals, it’s unwarranted as there is a second support who can pick up the slack, but it exists.
look at the people blaming you for playing bad and dont respond.
Tanking has always been a thankless job since OW1. Just play dps - it’s mostly a cosmetic role and no one minds a safe pick like solider or torb.
Do you have more mit then the LW? If the answer is no you are trolling, I can’t tell you how many games I have called out my tank(it’s normaly a ball or doom) who refuse to play anything else. I wait till after a few teamfights and Iook at the stats, if I see low MIT and elims, I request they switch to a more meta tank. Round ends and you still don’t switch I’m calling you out in teamchat, and 9 times out of 10 the response is, “it’s just qp bro”, and you are correct but you are not playing your role you are playing the team sabotage role.
If I see that it’s clear the game is lost because of the tank, I’ll switch to a hero idk how to play.
The problem tbh is them removing a 2nd tank and having every other season having bad news in terms of content. It’s destroyed alot of players faith in the future of this game.
I personally think Mei and sym could make for some fun tanks over doom and ball, and would remove the annoyance that comes with having a doom/ball as your tank.
For me it’s the sym or mei pick that ruins my tank experience while I’ll have a genji who uses all my bubbles to do nothing even if I counter pick to zarya. Other than that it’s chill. Tank for me is only hard when the enemy team has utility bases dps and I have Mr. Cool guy as dps
