Fire: Sean McDermott after the season.
Get rid of/replace: Micah Hyde Von Miller & Tre White (if possible I have no idea about the dead cap hit for these two massive contracts) Gabe Davis Tyrell Dodson Damar Hamlin Kair Elam
Hire: Offensive minded HC who likes to pass and will hire a like minded OC. Also a DC who doesn’t run prevent defense every down.
Draft: WR, DB, S, LB, OL
Milano, White, Jones.
Pick one and bring him back and we win that game, the Pats game, and the Broncos game. Just one. And I honestly don’t think it matters which one, although I know which one I’d pick.
McDermott has actually done a decent job coaching up a defense that at one point was missing half its starters, but there’s only so much anyone can do in this situation. When the refs, your own head coach, and apparently God Almighty are not on our side, we apparently need to outplay them even more than we did.
In a perfect world, we keep Brady, demote McDermott to DC, and hire a HC who can make decent in-game choices. In the real world, we end up cleaning house and give Josh his 4th OC in 4 seasons. Yay.
So, who should we be looking at for HC next season?
McDermott called a timeout before the eagles attempted a 59 yard field goal, then kneeled with 20 seconds left taking the game into overtime and went with the prevent defense that has lost us all of our biggest games. We need to move on from him after the season is over. The silver lining is we will be the hottest team in search of a coach that a coach like Harbaugh would possibly consider leaving college for. If not we can go after the best OC in the league that’s available, we should seriously consider bringing in Ben Johnson if Harbaugh says no. Joe Brady should get promoted to OC permanently, and we see if different coaching philosophy gets us where we need to be.
Harbaugh would be a great candidate and he 100% would leave Michigan for an NFL HC job. He also has experience with QBs similar to Allen (Andrew Luck at Stanford and Colin Kaepernick with the 49ers). Kaep was no Allen, but at the time he had a huge arm and ability to run like a back which is similar). He would be one of the top guys I would want.
The NFL is pro wrestling level scripted at this point. I can’t even discuss McDermott or anything else. It’s just laughable. The Bills would have easily won if the refs actually reffed.
I’ve spent the last ten hours liking tweets that criticize the Bills because I’m too goddamn tired to do it myself any more.
Blow it up. This team is not going to win anything with the current roster. My wish list:
McD: gone. His ceiling was 2021 and leading the league in penalties is inexcusable on top of all the blown leads and 4th quarter/OT collapses.
Diggs: gone. He’s a distraction. A great distraction don’t get me wrong, but he’s not winning games for us anyways, and his trade value is still high.
Gabe: gone. Too much of an all or nothing player.
Epinesa: gone. I don’t care what anybody says, on the rare occasion that he gets a sack or pressure, my first thought is “oh yeah I forgot about that guy.”
Poyer and Hyde: gone. Both washed and should probably retire.
Dodson: gone
Phillips: gone
Elam: gone
Dawkins: gone
Sherfield: gone. Useless
We all knew what was gonna happen in OT. I dread OT cuz our HC is conservative and we cant stop any offense when we absolutely have to have it

I started playing around with the NYT playoff predictions engine. The long and short of it is this: 97% chance of playoffs if we run the table, ~5% chance of playoffs if we lose just one game. So, for this squad to win a title, they essentially need to win 10 games in a row - anything less and they’re cooked. I’m not holding my breath or anything, but at least there’s still a path. Fire McDermott into the sun if they miss the playoffs though.
This ain’t right.
With one more loss we would have a 45-60% chance of making the playoffs (the higher odds if that loss is to DAL)
5% is if we lose two more games.
Last year on Thanksgiving the Bills got the ball back at the 25 yd line with the score tied and :22 left.
The first play of that drive was a 36 yard completion putting them in immediate FG range. They kicked a FG a few plays later and won the game in regulation.
How many timeouts did they have on that drive?
Alright, time to talk about last night. After a night’s sleep and a bit of chatting about it with coworkers ofc.
First off, McDermott may be cooked. We’re seeing the same mistakes made over and over again, and witnessing this happen over and over again is infuriating. He used 2 unnecessary timeouts, one to ice the kicker and one to plan his third down defense, which he always does and drives me nuts. It gives opposing teams under pressure the opportunity to catch their breath and, if at home, sucks the air out of the fans. Regardless, neither should have been used, and it would have been nice to have when we needed to March down the field and try to tie. Instead, we kneel and head into overtime. That is some bitch ass shit. Go for it. Couldn’t end up any worse, go for it.
Gabe Davis had a good game, but even when he’s good he makes me want to stick my tongue in an electrical outlet. He has the worst incompletion of the game and sinks us.
What happened to Bass? The dude was automatic, and last night misses 2 FG attempts. You hit those, and we walk out of the Linc with a Big W bigger than Bush Sr. Instead, he absolutely shanked both. He’s not always like this but that’s fucking brutal dude. We can’t leave points on the board like that, especially in a game like that.
If it were my team, Lawson and Phillips would be gone, and the other D Linemen involved would be reprimanded after the incident that took place after the game yesterday. How your team is so untrained that they assault a fan is beyond me, but it’s reprehensible. Yeah, it’s an asshole Eagles fan, so what? There are millions of them out there, climbing poles and fist fighting police horses as we speak. That doesn’t mean we gotta get into it with em.
Last for the negatives, and i seriously hate to be like this, but those refs need to be investigated. Under Nick Sirianni, the Eagles are undefeated in record and penalty differential when Sean Hochuli refs a game. Being an amazing ref doesn’t run in the family, I guess. How do you miss that Horse Collar that fucking bad man? Stevie Wonder could have told you what that penalty was. And the intentional grounding afterward is just the extra kick in the crotch we all needed.
Looking at positives, Allen, minus that one very bad interception, looked great. He put up a performance to be proud of for sure. Rasul Douglas did, too, and he’s been worth the pick we traded and then some to this team. The young DL guys got home, and Rouss was a menace. Diggs is still Diggs, and Terrell Bernard looked good again.
Honestly, though, I’m glad the season is all but cooked. Stressing out over if this team would make it just to almost certainly get blown out by the Jags or Ravens or whoever just wasn’t fun. We haven’t been the team we were in previous years, and that needs to be addressed.
As always, fuck this team, and see you next week. Maybe by then, I will be able to talk about college prospects or something.
Can we all just FINALLY admit what everyone else in the country has known for the last 30+ years? We are losers. The entire city is just a mass of pathetic, drunken losers whose only claim to fame is the most pathetic part of a chicken and sports teams that have not only never won anything but lose in the most embarrassing ways over and over and over. This is who we are and it isn’t changing anytime soon.
The Rtp call that got missed than when josh got flagged for intentional grounding might be the worst officiating I’ve ever seen. And that says something because the refs have been garbage all year.
