I know the entire NFL media has been harping on it all season, and I’ve said it till I’m blue in the face. But Stroud’s poise during yesterday’s game was on another level completely. That dude is one of, if not the most nimble pocket passer I’ve ever watched. II know that isn’t saying much being a Texans fan, but the length of his stride when he steps up in the pocket is better than any other team’s qb we’ve played against over the past 2 decades.
Those 2 sacks he gave up to Josh Allen during the last drive were disappointing, but he made up for those negative plays and would have at least gotten to a successful field goal if it weren’t for those meddling (bitch ass) refs.
I’m going to defend Stroud on those big sacks on the last drive. I don’t think those were rookie sacks. Stroud got away from the first defender, but Tunsil’s man came in running to take him out. That was poor blocking. The big sack that led to the missed field goal was a quickly collapsing pocket and another time Tunsil got beat leading to Stroud being grabbed by the collar which imo should have been a penalty. That slowed him down enough to then be finished off by another defender. There wasn’t much else to do unless he threw the ball away after a second if the 1st read wasn’t open.
