I know it was a tough loss and am certain after last night, I do not have a heart condition. However, we nearly beat the Eagles at home which is a massive feat considering how well they have played at home the last few years.

I understand why McD didn’t go for it with 20 seconds. It would have put Josh into hero mode with a brand new OC and if Josh failed by giving away the game, it could have ruined his positive momentum in a game that at the end of the day wasn’t a must win. The remaining conference games are must wins and after going toe to toe with the Eagles, we can absolutely beat the Cowboys.

Why the Bills lost the game comes down to (in order of impact based on my opinion):

  • terrible work by the refs
  • a defense that has performed well, but is desperately missing Milano. Dodson / Williams just can’t fill those shoes causing the safeties to have to support giving opposing teams too many big plays
  • a few critical drops, miscommunications (looking at Sherfield), or slightly off target throws
  • home field advantage

All that aside, this team just needs to make playoffs and I think they will put on a show.

Over the “could” rhetoric. Enough. We know. But we don’t and that’s the issue. Need a new staff asap.

I disagree on the 20 seconds–Josh has shown he can do it and he’s seasoned enough that he needs to be able to step up and make plays like that when required. McDermott babying him (as I think that’s what you’re suggesting) just shows he doesn’t trust his QB. THAT will hurt Josh’s positive momentum worse than missing a big play.

If the bills played that game in a neutral location with the leagues best referees, they could have converted a few more of those plays and win it.

We can’t beat anyone in THE big game because this coaching staff has shown, over and over again, that they can’t win big games.
