Nothing should be done reactionary and nothing should be done without long term plans in place.

If you want to bench Carr, you better have a plan to burn the money we have into him. And ruin that relationship. You better be damn sure there is nothing to squeeze out of him. Because once you throw him on the trash you can’t turn back. If there is anything to salvage, you look at the contract points and salvage it to there. Until then, we have to try to turn lemons into lemonade.

You want to fire Dennis Allen and PC right now? You think that helps us win now? You think that means we make the playoffs. Dennis Allen is in year 2 of the position. The team has not improved, even with more talent. he should be held accountable, but firing him now does nothing. Make us more a laughing stock. The players have not quit, and I only believe a coach gets fired mid season because the players quit on them.

Get some sleep guys, the sun will come up tomorrow. This is not the Saints year.

I don’t think that firing our coach etc would help get wins at the moment. But some sort of action would at least send a message that this culture of poor effort is not going to be tolerated any longer. If you are happy letting the Falcons use you like a prison bitch, then just keep doing what you are doing.

Honestly man, I worry about the mental health of anyone who thinks there is something to salvage from Derek Carr.

And I am a board certified physician 😂

You can’t have non-reactionary takes here. LOL. That being said the one change that should have happened and NEEDS to happen now is the play caller. Any other change at this point wont do anything for us. We literally can’t get worse at play caller and a change might help.

Carr has been booty to say the least but a better Play caller and schemer can account for his issues and be WAY more creative to minimize our entire dependency on him being something he isnt.

Honestly I keep ending up reading these bc I’m habitually opening the Reddit app when my mind wanders (I have severe attention deficit disorder) but there’s been almost zero value or enjoyment for me in participating here lately. Bunch of people constantly starting a few variations of the same few topics (fire X, bench Carr, tank, don’t fire X, here’s why X is better than stats show, etc).

As if even the most shrewd and thorough analyses of any these things would ever actually find their way to the decision makers. Even if they did find their way there those decision makers wouldn’t give two shits.

I’ve been as guilty as anyone with posts like this in the past (check my post history lol) but the discourse here has become so toxic I almost feel like I gotta unsub. Why can’t we just have a nice balance of shedding light on positive and negative, of analysis and memes, and actually foster some community in here?

Right from the jump I didn’t like the Carr signing. We had too many holes and he wasn’t going to be good enough to tip the scales. But that’s over and done with. He’s a commodity and the team is probably going to roll with him for at least the rest of this year. And I intend to root for him like he’s Drew fuckin Brees because he’s wearing the fuckin black and gold jersey and that’s what fans are supposed to do.

If folks can’t handle that without wasting their days away analyzing every snap of this mediocre season looking for an answer I would highly recommend you take some time off from watching football and find a more productive hobby.

Even if that last bit is triggering for some of y’all pls know I still love y’all and we’re all on the same team here. Who dat

But how do the Saints get out from under his contract? Playing him is not increasing his trace value.

It seems to me the players are quitting on him. Player only meetings, throwing shade in interviews etc. What now?

I disagree. The whole sport is based on reaction. How you react on defense when the other team runs a certain offense. Vice versa for your offense. You have to react to the situations around you in this sport

When Alvin came out in an interview a month or so ago and said “we’re not playing matchup ball, we have to play matchup ball.”. He also said he is sick of losing.

The players know the game of football in and out. They have played it their whole lives.

A simple coaching change could put them in a much better position to win. Whether it’s through better play calling, game planning or a better effort from the players.

I agree mostly (though they better make some meaningful coaching changes the moment the season is over), but I do maintain they must make some sort of change now. If not firing PC outright, at least hand over play calling to RC and expand RC’s role. Maybe RC knows what motion is… If that doesn’t work, try something else. But the frustration is that they seem happy to continue exactly exactly the same week after week with zero changes at all.
