AD can not create for himself he scores off of dump offs and lobs. You can’t just give him an entry pass and expect him to back down his man into the paint for a bucket. Even though he is shooting well on post hooks this season he refuses to go to that shot on a consistent basis.
Said this before and got crucified. Glad people finally understand. It’s fine declines happen but that means the coaching staff needs to set him up for success
The real problem is he doesn’t have a face up game. He doesn’t create any separation when he has the ball and just settles for contested jumpers.

Unfortunately for us, the league is a little bit different in 2023 than it was in 1983
they need another big, hayes and wood are both thin and easy to push around. they need a real big body, because atp its only ad who can guard the paint and bother opposing teams’ bigs.
AD has no go to post moves. All his shots are contested or just high difficulty for no reason. On top of that he lost is soft touch around the rim.
The real problem is we don’t have an offense that consistently gets him the ball in good spots or coaches that can react when the other team takes things away… he feasts when he gets the ball in good areas… LA is 0-3 when he has 10 or fewer shots… 10-3 when he gets more… it’s not rocket science

A couple thoughts, I could be wrong. No other star is required to be a force on def the way AD is. Other than Yannis really no other player in the top 5-10 can be a candidate for DPOY. If he could skate by and take breaks on def the way many other stars do. the man averages 22-12-3-3. That does not take in all the shots that he disrupts. Hes a big that does not handle the ball, if his jumpers would fall it would make everything much easier for him. In the end, if this team played def like they gave shit in any quarter other then the last, we would be in first place.
People will clown you but you’re right. If he’s even so much as our 2nd best offensive player we will never win anything.
I’ve seen him blow by defenders but I thought he got stronger during the off season. Last night he didn’t seem that strong.
