People Who Drive on Eco Pro Mode, How Much Savings Do You See?
Been using it lately and notice the car gets significantly slower which sucks but wondering if people who have used it long term see considerable savings.
I drive in Eco Pro mode and honestly, aside the car going slower, I don’t think I’ve noticed any savings. I mean maybe there are savings, but nothing that has me saying Eco Pro rocks.
i use eco pro when i travel 800km away… and highway speed limit is 100-110km/h and i just put on tempomat and relax… that my way to do it. Do i save something? i don’t know i never try go in sport+ the same way so i can’t say exacly… but is not super important also
i got close to 47mpg+ on my 2014 328d in econ on the way from Connecticut to Atlantic City. Was a 4 hour trip, mostly at 75mph on cruise control (missed traffic mostly). I think thats the best I have ever done.
I noticed it helps the range and mpg quite nicely when cruising the freeway at speed. That is the only time I use it - since i have no need for the full power of the engine, and if I can save the environment some emissions and a couple of bucks in my pocket, why not? But for my daily driving around the city i would never use it, the speed hit is too great.
<1mpg difference … negligible
I do between 30-32mpg on my 22 miles each direction commute in comfort mode in my 21’ 540i. avg 27mpg with currently 302xx miles on the car.
I use eco on long trips, doing 70 mph. Stop and go function is annoying especially in bitter cold. I have made a 600 miles trip on a single tank of gas
It seems that only eco disengages the transmission so I use it when I get off the mountains or situation where you can see similar conditions.
That being said , I drove 1400 km(~870 miles) in ECO Pro, mostly highways at about 140 km/h and the “additional distance” I gained was about 6 kms(4 miles?).
The way back, I did the same in Comfort and there seemed to be no difference whatsoever.
Talking about G31 540i xDrive
