At least on the Steven Nelson hold, they just called the wrong guy. Tavierre Thomas (iirc) was mauling his guy just out of frame from that video.

So there was definitely a defensive hold, they just called the wrong number.

Saw some Jags fans saying that and it isn’t true although it’s certainly a closer call than the number the refs said.

There’s some contact within the allowed 5 yard limit and then he lays off. The Jags WR ducks under Thomas’ arm to run his whip route which makes it look like holding. Not as bad of a call as it looked initially but still wrong

Here’s the thing, it happened and it likely will happen again. Does it suck? Yes. Were there calls/non-calls that went our way? Also yes. End of the day, teams know this can happen and need to do what they can to not let it be what determines the outcome. The best thing to do is just take what you can from it and move on because it can’t be changed now.

That’s just so fucking sad. The refs just need to be consistent… if you’re going to be shit… be consistently shit for everyone. Once you stop being consistent you get conspiracy. Some teams get better calls/no calls because the consistency is just not there.
