Anybody who’s watched football a long time knew how this would play out. The backup goes in and plays great a few games then comes back down to Earth. Seen it countless times. It’s not Dobbs fault he got unfair expectations put on him.

This is what fans who want to keep Kirk have been trying to tell everybody. QB’s on his level are rare. It’s extremely hard to play well every single week. It’s all about consistency. The messed up part is if Kirk was healthy the Vikings would probably be 8-4 on a 7 game winning streak with the way our defense is playing.

Hope this clears up the path we need to take at QB next year. A 3 year extension for Kirk is by far our best option.

While I agree that our record would be better with Kirk, we’re just playing guessing games. The JJ injury was going to catch up with us eventually once defenses learned what our tendencies were without him and our O line has been leaky lately.

Dobbs has looked putrid at times but we had a lead late with a chance to put the game away the last 2 weeks. We could easily have gone 4-0 thanks to our great defensive play.

Let’s not forget that our defense was the main reason we won our first two games. Our offense was horrible against the bears the first time and the panthers.

Without our defense playing so well, we probably only have 2-3 wins at the most.
