There are a shitload of people in this sub who don’t watch other teams and it shows.
Two things can be true at the same time.
- The Packers do have a pretty good defense.
- The Packers defense underperforms relative to its talent level at times.
When the D does not have to worry about the run…they are pretty imposing
I agree with both of your points, but I think it’s important that we call a spade a spade.
The quarterbacks we have faced are:
- Goff
- Herbert
- Cousins
- Wilson
- Ridder
- Fields
- Carr/Winston
- Garoppolo
- Pickett
- Rypien
We’ve only faced 1 real elite QB in Herbert, and he’s without one of his favorite weapons, oh and his coach sucks. Honestly is he even elite? Either way, we did well against the team as a whole.
Goff, Cousins, Wilson & Carr, the guys who are above average all did well against us. All but one of our interceptions came against the below average guys. Ridder, Rypien, Fields, Jimmy G. The one INT that came against a better QB was Goff.
I think a good test is going to be the Chiefs. The best QB in the league and a great defense. We’ll see how the offense can perform but we’ll also see if the defense can hold their own. If we get the doors blown off we’ll know that our record was built on a house of cards.
It only took giving Joe Barry a team full of 1st round picks to manage a somewhat alright defense. Fire Joe Barry into the sun
When we are healthy, there is no reason this defense can’t be top 3 in the NFL. Can we do that with Barry, I donno.
I like Joe Barry.
Barry is doing such an amazing job, I think the Panthers should give him a shot at HC.
