I think we can be pissed off about some of the ticky-tack calls as well, but those happen all the time so the real concern to me are these things that seem definitively to be mistakes:

• An official coming from halfway across the field to overrule a sideline judge’s call on Tank Dell’s completion being in bounds. Picture evidence shows now that catch was made in bounds, and there’s no reason the initial call on the field that the sideline judge made shouldn’t have been what was being reviewed.

• The officials moving the ball back a yard and a half from its official spot for the final play of the game, directly causing Amendola’s kick to miss

• The missed egregious hold by Pitre before the Stingley interception that officials were clearly in place to see

• The missed False Start on the final Jags drive

Outside of that, I think there’s elements of the other plays that the NFL can back the officials on.

• For the PI calls, there is still technically contact, and on the end zone shot the ball is uncatchable but not egregiously so

• For the huge Tank completion called back due to illegal shift, if you watch the All 22, Robert Woods is rocking back and forth a tiny bit getting set when Tank starts his motion. Flag gets thrown after the play is snapped as that’s when they know it was the last motion to occur. Incredibly picky with how light Woods movement is, but technically justifiable.

I’m glad that they are being called out but we should focus on the upcoming games. We don’t get any favors by the refs, but we are still a highly penalized team and that needs to seriously be addressed by our coaching staff. I know we are a young team, but the amount of flags that are called against us is way too high and they finally cost us a game.
