So there was a moment in the 2018 AFCCG against the Patriots where we stopped New England on a 4th and inches late in the game. I think it was Sorenson making the play. I remember Bob fist-pumping and yelling on the sideline after the stop. I wasn’t used to ol’ Bobby getting hyped and that got me hyped. The guy just always looked like he’d rather die during that season.
Does anyone know where this rare moment of Bob getting excited can be found?
I think it’s pretty funny how every Chiefs fan remembers the Bob Sutton defense as being awful for years but really those 2017 and 2018 were his worst years.
Like comparatively Sutton’s defenses finished top 10 in scoring every year from 2013-2016. Whereas, correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first time the Chiefs defense has been top 10 in scoring since Spags started. Not saying Sutton was better since to be fair, he inherited a really good defense, but his defenses always just seemed way worse than they actually were. But that 2018 season was enough for him to get fired and I’m glad they did. It’s just funny how much perspectives on success change.
