I think it’s pretty funny how every Chiefs fan remembers the Bob Sutton defense as being awful for years but really those 2017 and 2018 were his worst years.

Like comparatively Sutton’s defenses finished top 10 in scoring every year from 2013-2016. Whereas, correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first time the Chiefs defense has been top 10 in scoring since Spags started. Not saying Sutton was better since to be fair, he inherited a really good defense, but his defenses always just seemed way worse than they actually were. But that 2018 season was enough for him to get fired and I’m glad they did. It’s just funny how much perspectives on success change.

Also what does “Rice isn’t a number 1 even if he continues improving” mean if it’s not writing him off. Saying a rookie will never be a number 1 receiver is literally writing them off. Stop with the nonsense bro

No receiver that has done this well as a rookie under Reid’s system has turned out to be a bust. At this point, if anything he’s on pace to be a number one receiver.

Have some patience, not every receiver is going to have 10 touchdowns and 1,000 yards their rookie year. Let the dude play in the NFL at least a year and a half before writing him off.

Eh I still trust Veach. Rice is having one of the best rookie wide receiver seasons in Andy Reid’s system ever. He’s on pace for 714 yards which is better than Tyreek’s 593 yards and worst than Desean Jackson’s 912 yards. Rice is also on pace for 7 touchdowns, which is better than Jackson’s 2 touchdowns and Tyreek’s 6 touchdowns.

We may have a number one wide receiver already. Still would like us to go sign one though

Almost 40% of our cap is going to Mahomes, CJ, and Kelce. Having over a third of your cap dedicated to three players is a cap nightmare. And all 3 of those players make more than the Eagles highest paid player.

And buckle up, it’s about to get worse. Mahomes’s cap hit is 37 million this year and is set to jump to 57 million the next few years because weve heavily backloaded his contract. This is why it was an awful move by Veach to not go out and get a receiver, the next couple years are going to be rough.

Hurts is still on a cheap contract but he’s set to take a huge jump in salary. Don’t worry, they’ll have to start cutting a restructuring contracts soon. And my guess is their offensive line is going to really struggle after their legends all retire and they have no cap to rebuild it.

I’m glad you posted this as the “woe is us” posts in this sub were starting to get annoying. But also I think most people thought they were going to figure it out this week. Coming off a bye and playing a Super Bowl caliber team, seemed like a great time to iron out the kinks in our offense and open the playbook a bit.

We opened the playbook more in the first half, and seemed to close it back up in the second half. But the drops were atrocious. I think the frustration is also that we targeted Watson 11 times for 4 catches and MVS 4 times for 0 catches. A lot of fans are just baffled as to why MVS and Rice had the same amount of targets. Also I know he tweaked something, but Toney was running circles around the Eagles in the first half and disappeared in the second half. Like was never even schemed into plays.

I think the team will figure it out though, we’ve always had rough patches during the season and have always figured it out come playoff time. Do I think we’ll win the Super Bowl? Maybe not, it’s hard to repeat. But I think this is the worst this team gets and it’s overall up from here.

Idk why half the comments are so negative as if this is a dumb post. Plenty of coaches have won two Super Bowls, being at one point the winningest coach for two franchises has never been done and would bolster his legacy greatly.

Half these comments are acting like Reid is a unanimous top 3 coach of all time with two Super Bowl. Don’t get me wrong I think he is, but I’m also super biased. For GOAT coaches two rings is not even that crazy. Being the winningest head coach for two different franchises is arguably just as impressive as his second Super Bowl. That’s just my opinion though

Look at Moore’s draft grade, not just by PFF but by everyone. His hands were sure and catching and YAC were his biggest attributes. Not sure what happened, but we didn’t draft Moore thinking we’d have to teach him how to catch.

Also, we draft based on what Andy Reid likes at receiver. When has Andy Reid ever had a big bodied receiver that’s worked out. Reid likes fast guys, we draft fast guys, it’s won us two super bowls.
