This season has been disappointing, even myself having low expectations this season I still am disappointed but also encouraged. It seems like most of our problems have a clear solution.

To start off, the 2 most important players on the team look great. Wemby is the real deal and Devin looks like he will become an elite shooter and scorer for us. These 2 are the foundation of our future and have been great.

The biggest concern and cause of losing is the lack of the point guard. It’s crazy because if you put TJ Mcconnell on this team who is a fantastic PG, I think we would be 10x a better team if he was starting. This looks to be a huge development/test season while also tanking for another top 5 pick.

Next season, with a starting lineup of (PG)/devin/sochan/wemby/zach we will be really scary. Devin with another year to improve, Sochan with the new abilities and growth from the tough task of playing pg from last season, Wemby making his 2nd year leap.

Sochan has had a really tough season and been tasked with playing pg which is not his natural role and not his long term role. Just like Giannis and Ingram being forced to play PG they were able to develop ball handling skills and become great playmaker for their size and position.

Next season with a pg and huge leaps from our players we will have our breakout season. This season has been rough but it’s critical for development long term.

Can’t wait to draft Sarr to see him start at PG 😍 I’ll have a double reason to stay up all night

We’re still a couple years away from anything close to the playoffs I believe. It typically takes 3-4 years to rebuild. Next season we should have more talent though, also more experience from our young guys. The way I see it, it’s only going to get better from here.

TJ would not make this team 10x better that’s for damn sure, we should all chill with falling in love with backup point guards imo. We suck because we can’t defend

But you’re right that we could get much better next year, however if we draft a PG it will take some time before they’re a net positive. Rookie PG is really really tough in the NBA.

I’m mostly eager to see any growth from Malaki and Julian as I haven’t seen any improvement YoY yet. I think Keldon has progressed steadily, Jeremy is progressing (curious to see how he’ll be when sliding back to the 4) and Collins seems to have hit a ceiling based on his physical profile. As you said Devin and Victor everything looking good so far.

That’s what it was said last year and all of the off season. Until the team actually makes some moves it’s pointless talks.

I have much higher expectations (7-10 seed) next year mostly because Pop and Co will actually have a clear offensive/defensive scheme built around Wemby. Still will be growing pains but having more structure and clearly defined roles should help a lot.

Next season will look encouraging but we’ll still have a lot to figure out. The hopefully 2 high draft picks as well.

At the end of the next season, things should start to come together and look like a bright future.

Season 3 and 4 should be very fun though.
