The new mythic skin hasn’t come out yet but people are saying it’s a glorified beetle reskin?

    Because amazing new skins used to be released all the time for free. Now they make one good skin every two months and charge you a chunk of real money for it. People are right to complain when their product is made measurably worse

      The game is now free so they won’t give skins as much for free, if they lowered their prices they wouldn’t even have enough money to keep making those skins If you want the skins to be 10 dollars then you will get terrible skins

        Ok, I get you’ve probably read that somewhere and adopted it like most people on this sub but you’re actually wrong, and blizzard doesn’t need your help;

        When you buy a real shirt for 30 dollars, you’re paying for the materials it’s made of, you’re paying for someone or a machine to stitch it together, you’re paying for it to be driven from the factory to a store/ your house. Materials, labour, distribution.

        A pixel shirt for your video game action man is made from no material, it is made once by a team of artists and copied infinitely, it doesn’t need to be delivered because it doesn’t exist.

        In the first 3 months upon release, Overwatch 2 made over 100 million dollars, the most profitable the game (including 1) has EVER been.

        So to your point, they could sell them for 5 dollars and still make profit enough to keep the game going in perpetuity and also be filthy rich. Corporate greed is getting bad enough without the people licking their shoes and thanking them for it, you’re being ripped off, buy all the little outfits you want but at least be cognisant of the fact that you aren’t paying a fair price.

        I could explain the economics a bit more if you’d like

          Selling skins for 5 dollars is the worst idea I have ever heard And if they did that they would go bankrupt Also didn’t really need an economics class but thanks

          Also a whole team of artist great the skin on sheet, then a model team create the shape of the skin, more artist color the skin, then the developers make sure the skin works as intended, has no glitches, and isn’t a pay to win item

    I’d think that overwatch players are a bit salty about the pve mixed with the time blizzard betrayed them, and how meta the characters are. To the point they can’t enjoy the game they are playing.

    It suffers from the same issue as the Hanzo mythic. Objectively speaking, yes it is “cool” and it does look good, but frankly I can count on two hands Orisa’s cool legendary and even epic skins (Star Sheep, Griffon, Forest Spirit, Rubber Ducky, Bull Demon, Demon etc).

    Simply put, while tastes are subjective and everyone is welcome or dislike the skin for how it looks, I think the bigger issue ppl have with it is that it doesn’t feel like a mythic. Think back to season 1-6 where mythic meant not just different colors of the same skin but also changing stuff like the design of head, chest, arms, body and clothes. And they were all different from each other. Like ppl give A-7000 shit but you can’t deny each of her three body types all look really different and frankly like different characters.

    Orisa and Hanzo’s on the other hand…are just different colors….and slightly different weapon skins from what I see. No real changes to head, body, no special customization like tattoos or horn changes. That and it looks too similar to a skin we already have, so it a lot less fresh and unique.
