Im a big critic of Tepper but in the interest of generating positivity and some rational outlook for the future, I want you to hear what y’all think Tepper has done right.
To me it’s things like buying a bubble, engaging with old panthers like Smitty to bring them back around, and to start treating team alumni better. Honestly I run out of obvious things after that of significance. Wondering what y’all think because I know he wants to win, but man listening his 12 minute press conference was pretty rough, he spent more time talking about economic impact to Charlotte than anything.
It’s tough.
The draft pick and trade seem quite forced. Also, it feels like a trade up was on the table, and when Houston said no thanks, ownership said, “hold my beer”.
There is one part of the presser where I believe he says along the lines of, “and we agreed to move up to number two for CJ, but got #1 and wanted Bryce”.
Seems to me like the staff was hired with the idea of go scout is a QB, and when they came back Stroud, they were told, “try again”.
Idk, the firing now also feels more like this is the case bc it seems to be the only logical path to making any sense of these shenanigans.
huh?
to me that says, chicago had the #2 overall pick, houston had 1, so they presumed houston was going to take bryce and they prepared to draft CJ
Until Lovie Smith fucked around and won the last game on a 2 pt conversion and dropped them to #2, and then the front office knew they had their choice
How quickly do people forget lol
