3.5 mm jack?
Unless it has an unlockable bootloader and ability for installing custom roms, it’s just another useless thing for the landfill.
Does it not?
Mediatek Processor, so no
Seems not to, and also doesn’t allow apps outside of the “official store”. So worse than google somehow.
Wellll, shit.
You can pick almost any mid-range device in the 500 euro price range and that thing does 95% of what the 2k€ flagship does except fold in half and cost month’s wage. That’s Enough Phone for anyone.
500 euro price range and that thing does 95% of what the 2k€ flagship does
I’ve never gone above 250€ and the last two phones I’ve had fit that description. Only real difference is my hatred towards the world when the screen breaks.
Will it run Graphene? Lineage? Calyx?
With the pure derp of Google my primary deciding factor is support for alternative OS images.
looks like degoogled & modified aosp with a minimalistic approach

oh gross. I didn’t dig too much into it but that’s about all I need to know to stay away.
I love it! They just helped me out by completely killing my consumerist urge to get the device!
LOOOOLOL imagine trying to sell a “DeGoogled” OS but it’s actually just like Google, but somehow shittier. What a load.
Oooh, love to see it! 🤩
Don’t get it! No side loading!
Wtf? In this day & age? 🤦🏼♂️
LOL are you me? I’ve only used Pixels since the 4a because the most important thing about any phone has become removing spyware and AI bullshit, and generally being under my control. And for that reason I don’t buy anything else.
But GOS has very high hardware standards that a small OEM could probably never meet. The best they can do is give it an unlocked bootloader and leave it up to the community.
Otherwise the name is apt. There’s very little separating modern smartphones especially the crazy high end ones. This seems like it would be “Enough” to do what people need to do.
The 4a is the last good Pixel
Mmm I have to say the P5 was the best Pixel.
Do any of them even support stuff like banking apps? I haven’t looked into it much personally because I always hear that you can’t use critical apps like that on alternative OSes.
Both my banking apps work on graphene. There’s a list of ones that work floating around.
On graphene, no issues for any current apps.
Yes, but it depends on your institution. My credit union has always supported custom ROMs, for example.

“Support” is the wrong word here.
As long as they don’t intentionally sabotage use with custom ROMs, almost everything will work. Things that rely on Google’s libraries/services might need MicroG or the like.

Do you have a non–antagonistic setting, maybe? Your vibe-coders should look into that upgrade.

Do I???
I use graphene and the banking app I use works fine (Revolut)
Mine did with Graphene and Lineage, bit they recently updated to “Verified Device” crap breaking Lineage. Graphene seems to have some sort of fix, though that could be broken later. Google is getting pretty damn evil.
Nice. I have no desire to carry a tablet around in my pocket. So tired of these massive phones. These things are supposed to be portable.
Just out of curiosity, how old are you and do you ever use your phone to watch a video or play games?
Also not OP, and I’ll decline to post my age, but I’m old enough to have used small phones, and I think my previous Sony X Compact was the right size. The Enough is very close to the same dimensions.
I do use my phone to watch video or play games on occasion, and no doubt, bigger phones are better for those things. Better still is my tablet; better than that is my laptop; better than that is a gaming PC with a 32" 4K display and a mechanical keyboard.
The phone’s main job is to fit comfortably in my pocket and be easily used one-handed. Making it substantially worse at those jobs so it can be marginally better at the things other devices will always far outclass it in is a fail for me.
Watch a video, sure. Play games, maybe mindustry or shattered pixel dungeon but neither of those needs a big screen.
My fairphone 6 is already way too big. It doesn’t even fit in literally any waterproof bike phone holder I can find.
Not OP, but I’m in my 40s and the answer to both your questions is a resounding no. I went for a pixel 3a to a OnePlus 13 about two years ago and the thing is way too big. Even my work issues iPhone 15 is a bit too big.
The screen real estate is kind of nice, but pocket fit is abysmal.
Typing on Pixel 3a now. Love this phone.
I watch videos on occasion, did it on my zenfone, do it on a pixel 7a.
Nobody is taking away bigass fones. Would be nice to have a handful of small ones.
Daaayum, pampa. So fly that even your pockets have fit?
I’d be more interested if I didn’t already have much smaller phone. I like the design, except for the chin. A single camera always looks nice.
The idea sounds good, but it’s considerably thicker than a Sony X Compact from 2016, and it doesn’t have a headphone jack (the Sony did). I use the headphone jack.
I’ve been begging for thicker phones for years
For battery capacity, or ergonomics?
Both? Plus getting a flat back. Just in general it makes more room for things.
I don’t follow, sorry. What things?
Whatever you want? Battery? Processor? Cooling/vapor chamber? headphone jack? etc. etc.
I’m listening. You mean modding or OEM? 🤓
OEM
(You don’t deserve a downboat for that. Here ya go, brave anon. 🖖🏼)
What? How old is that peripheral that jacks in?! 😵💫
Hol’up. You use an ⅛-¼" adaptor, don’t you. 😋 (link for the youngins)
(edit: it was meant in jest, no judgment, my apologies)
What? How old is that peripheral that jacks in?!
I have used all of the following this year:
- Circumaural headphones: new (this year)
- IEM headphones: 2019? 2020?
- Aux ports in various rental and relatives’ cars: various
- Professional audio console to play a file for a room full of people because I was the only one with a phone with a headphone jack: doesn’t matter - it will have analog inputs whether it’s brand new or 50 years old
- Tape adapter in an old van: probably as old as the van (2002)
You use an ⅛-¼" adaptor, don’t you.
I believe that was involved for one of the above items.
A Sony compact from 2016 didn’t have to house today’s hardware.
Any phone today is larger and thicker than my Samsung S4 from 2014. Any phone today would also outperform it by orders of magnitude.
This Enough phone doesn’t look any thicker than many phones today.
Unfortunately a headphone jack is required by a small subset of users, just like small phones. So wanting a small phone and a headphone jack is an even smaller subset of users.
Though I think Unihertz does headphone jacks even on their Jelly phones.
Unihertz also understands that phone width is a bigger issue than thickness (they probably have some ratio they’ve determined works). I can’t reach across my Pixel 5 one-handed.
Edit: from their own website, the Enough phone is less than 12mm thick. That’s on the thicker side, but not world-ending thick.
A Sony compact from 2016 didn’t have to house today’s hardware.
Neither does the Enough. The proposed CPU is low-mid range and there’s only one rear camera.
Sounds like I’ll begin designing a printable case for it. 🤩
There’s also 3 inch Unihertz Jelly Star. Did anyone actually bought it?
At 19mm thick, that is not a small phone at all.
I got one for my wife. She used it for about two years, but it was a pain to read her messages. And if you increased the font to its largest size it looked like shit and you could only have 5 lines of text on the whole display.
It’s nice, but you get tired of it. It was cool seeing the faces of people when paying with NFC.
I had one. I loved it. But I overestimated my vision at my age lol
I have bought it and i don’t recommend. It like a heavy potato.
That’s made by a Chinese company that breaks gpl by not releasing the kernel source. There are custom Roms for it but they’re based on a binary blob that can’t be adjusted.
Ew. I hope it withers on the vine. 🤮
Yes, and besides a few issues, I love it, currently looking for a replacement, will have an eye on that campaign
