I was watching the timberwolves game and hearing giddey get boo’d on almost every single possession where he touched the ball made me think a bit. I would feel so horrible if he was innocent and he gets treated as a pedophile for the rest of his career.
Also, I realized that if the girl did indeed trick him into believing she was above 18, she will receive absolutely no legal consequence whatsoever despite potentially threatening a young man’s career, earnings, and reputation.
I’m still surprised they are continuing to let him play and speak to the media. Innocent or guilty. If he’s innocent, I think he’s be well within his right to leave for “personal” reasons while the investigation continues. Then he’s not a distraction to the game if he isn’t on the court. If he is found guilty, how does that look for OKC that they played him??
It’s a lose lose situation unfortunately.
