Not surprising, it makes sense that the ID branding is used as a short-term label for the transition EVs before they’re mature enough to stand on their own feet without being hit by teething issues or horrendous depreciation.
Then go back to their loved model names once they’ve got a stable range.

I doubt it will age well.
is it sacrilege to want it in rwd? fwd was a necessary holdover from the ICE era for fuel efficiency
and people who live with lots of snow aren’t exactly lining up to buy fwd golfs anyways
There are some advantages for FWD in EVs as well, like better regen, more space in the boot (which is especially important for smaller cars) and overall it’s cheaper.
