They’re tracking to 37 wins, which is almost EXACTLY what their Vegas over/under predicted (36) wins.

I get it. They’re mediocre, and nobody wants to watch a mushy middle team with two guys hankering for max contracts on it and a third coming up.

But they’re also not like, the Pistons. They haven’t lost 12+ games in a row and this fan base would likely be apopletic if they rebuilt and had to live through that given how impatient we are.

That said, I’m not convinced you have to blow it up to shake things up, but I do think they absolutely need to make a few key decisions and pick a direction at this deadline, not on whether they want to win or lose, but a direction on what kind of team they want to be, because right now there’s no identity and that’s the biggest issue.

TLDR: it could be worse, sadly.

Well at this point, Masai doesn’t have much time- he either trades Pascal/OG, signs them, or lets them walk.

If he trades one, I think it would be Pascal. Then we would be in a rebuild/or retool depending on return.

If he signs both, and we finish this season between the 7-10 seed, and he decides to run it back next year, we have a problem.

If he lets both walk, without recouping any assets, that’s a firable offense in my opinion. But also means we would be in full tank mode and maybe get Cooper Flagg sweepstakes.
