…reminds me of all the tears and shredded garments several weeks ago about What Coulda Been because Will Levis had a good game that one time.

i dont mind giving antonio another year, even oconnell. but we should 100% try to get one of the top qbs in the draft and let them compete.

Fun fact: the top QBs in the 2024 nfl draft have started a combined zero games and are winless in all of those games. But sure, let’s let the rookie and the second year guy compete behind a sketchy offensive line and see who’s better at it!

if the 2nd year guy cant beat the rookie then why keep the 2nd year guy? you cant pass up potential franchise qbs for a mid rounder that has potential to be a solid starter. we need a game changer.

Why draft the rookie if he can? The rookie can’t help him develop. And AO4 is barely dry behind his ears himself so he’s some but not enough use to the rookie’s development. And the rookie can’t develop anyway because he’s on the bench. And none of this helps the team in any way whatsoever. So what is the point in drafting him?

The only “benefit” at all, if we can call it that, is giving the peanut gallery someone to point at and demand be the starter whenever O’Connell stumbles. Of course, when the rookie stumbles we get a couple weeks of “he’s just a rookie,” like we saw with O’C, but they turn on the rookie soon enough, like we see with O’C. And then they move on to blaming the coaches, gm, owner. It’s a lot of fun for the peanut gallery. Doesn’t do much for the team though.
