I think it’s time to put a rest to the Bagent QB1 talk. He is a decent backup and game manager but the talent JF1 has puts Bagent to rest. Again, I like Bagent as a long-term backup but by no means is he our QB1 of the present of future

If you compared Fields and Bagent’s first two starts they are pretty comparable.

They both went 1-1 and Bagent actually has better stats I’d say

Fields had 17 completions on 37 attempts for 277 yards. 0 Td 1 Int 1 Fumble Ran 6 times and gained 21 yards on the ground. He got sacked 10 times for loss of 91 yards.

Bagent had 46 completions on 66 attempts for 395 yards. 1 Td 2 Int 0 Fumbles Ran 5 times for 28 yards and a touchdown. He got sacked 2 times for a loss of 12 yards.

Three rookies who started today…now tell me why Bagent should be a backup while the other two should be starters?

    Stroud 16/24 140 yards 1 TD

    Young 22/31 225 1 TD

    Bagent 25/37 232 1 TD

Bagent played alright. His team didn’t help him out tonight, dropping TD pass, causing one of his INT, drive killing penalties and a defense that made Herbert look like a HOF qb. Bagent is just as good as any of the other rookie QBs starting this year, but weirdly prefer to hold him to a higher standard .

Bagent doesn’t look confused or overwhelmed. I’m somewhat impressed with the way he plays given this was only his second start.

Fields running was electric last season. He throws a great long ball when the 0-line protects him long enough for the play to develop.

I hope that Fields learns something from watching Bagent and finishes the season strong. Bagent could be a quality backup if Fields gets dinged up.

It’s cooper rush all over again. The backup qb had a few great games, and then off of a small sample size some fans decided that was enough to want him over Dak

Was watching the game last night and thought it was interesting how Chris Collinsworth kept saying how much Fields could learn from Bagent, a rookie.

Bagent holds himself with good composure, does not panic, gets the ball out quickly, and manages the game well. From what little I’ve seen of him, he also has a natural ability to read the defense. These are all the areas Fields struggles in.

However, Fields is just way more talented. He’s our starter, Bagent is our QB2, and there’s no question about it. I like Bagent a lot and love his story, but he missed some pretty easy throws and doesn’t have near the athletic ability as Justin.

Hopefully Fields learned a thing or two from staying involved and watching Tyson from the sidelines and we can see some of that mental game transition over. He’s got half a season left to save his career. Let’s wish him the best and see what happens. Bear tf down
