I just got my OLED Deck, and one of my first orders of business is to get ER running its best. There are a ton of guides out there that typically recommend some mix of settings combined with a 30 fps cap on the original Deck….

But with the way the OLED Deck handles refresh rates and all that, I’m wondering if anyone has tinkered enough yet to find settings that achieve a consistent enough 45 fps. That’d allow for the full refresh rate of 90, minimize input latency, all that good stuff…

I guess the question is just, do settings exist that allow the OLED Deck to hit the target consistently without turning the visuals to complete mush? If you’ve had luck with this, what settings do you use?

Sorry if this question is kind of noob-ish, I’m just not well-versed in what settings really impact performance vs. what matters most for visual fidelity, etc., and playing with each and every variable individually myself seems like a project that maybe someone in the community has already completed more efficiently… Thanks!

Steam Deck OLED, Cryoutilities, 4GB VRAM, -50, -50, -40 undervolt i’m getting 30+ FPS with medium/high mix of settings. Open areas like limgrave dip to as low as 32 but mostly hover in the mid to high 30s. Other areas even stay at 40 or higher, specifically altus, caelid, and weeping peninsula. Interiors and caves are 40-high 50s. Underground open areas like Siofra river well has a low of 37 and a high of 48. mostly stuck to 40

Ok hear me out. Months ago I was struggling to get 40fps on Elden Ring, and I booted it up today to test and I was able to get 40-45 FPS 720p high settings.

Maybe 3.5 did something or maybe it’s the faster ram in the OLED but I was shocked. Did anyone else experience that after 3.5?

I like to lock at 30 with a mix of max/med settings for that super smooth frame time graph. It’s basically totally flat 90% of the time. 10w tdp
