except when you double in a pick up game, that’s not “just high competition”

Nothing worse than seeing a person get injured during “garbage time” for no damn reason. I don’t wanna see Devin out there pulling a hammy or whatnot just so he can get 40 while the Suns are up 20.

When the game is over, the game is over. I get it…it’s a bit unfair that someone may not get their stats because they’re winning so much! Again, these are professionals; let their agent make the case that their client may not be averaging X because on Y specific games they were yanked and only played Z minutes…

These guys are pros. Middle school ethics shouldn’t be in place. If you don’t want players dunking on you them be a professional athlete and stop them. I absolutely hate it when I feel guys are going easy.

It’s not nearly as bad as baseball and their ridiculous unwritten rules but honestly, play some defense if you don’t want guys scoring.

In my old man over 35s league, if there’s a blow out the last 2 minutes turn into a half court shoot out, it’s kinda fun

Idk how more athletes don’t think like this. When I was kissed I was pissed if I was on a team that got mercy ruled because I wanted to keep playing. Never thought 10 run rules, or mercy rules taught valuable lessons at all.

If PD matters, then keep playing, get as high a score as possible. If it doesn’t, then I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s disrespectful, but it’s definitely unnecessary

I wish this was the celtics players saying this. I want guys who want to play until the whistle, and who expect others to as well. You should want the other guy to always give you their best.

The league would never roll with that. Imagine how it would look when the Suns are up by 50 to start the 4th quarter and then keep all their starters in for 9+ minutes to try and push the lead to 70. People in the arena would be leaving after the 3rd quarter.

And nobody wants to watch someone run up the score when they’re already up by a lot. It’s not high competition, it’s just unwatchable. Booker is wrong on this one.

Plus, player stats would be artificially inflated and someone winning the scoring title would then literally have an asterisk next to it.
