Ivan Toney is a good player. Very wilfred Boney esque.
Not good enough for top 4, even as rotation. That guy is not CL quality
I really don’t want Toney, he isn’t at the level and will prevent us from getting someone who is
I’ve never believed we were seriously interested in Toney. It’s always felt like all the smoke has come from the player’s camp, so I find it funny there’s been constant talk about it.
I don’t think it will really matter whether Toney’s better than Eddie. It’s not the right comparison, in my opinion. For the money, we should be asking if he’s better than Jesus–or if he is on the cusp of being better.
We’ve spent a lot of money recently, and we’ve needed to, but we’re Arsenal not Manchester United or Man City or Chelsea. I can’t imagine we’re spending Toney money on a 28yo striker in the summer, much less in the January window.
He’s being pushed as some kind of saviour when he isn’t. He’s an average finisher, not bad, not great. He’s definitely better than Nketiah is right now but he’s not £80m better.
I think Eddie is a consistent 4/10 and even I agree that toney is a waste of 80M.
I watched the scouting video Arsenal Vision did on their Patreon yesterday evening.
Flip it was a very hard video to analyse. So so many clips of him being given a long pass from deep and him either holding it up well or him being fouled. Very difficult to analyse.
I do see him as an upgrade on Eddie ofc but is it worth a £60m+ fee just to upgrade on Eddie? I can’t see it.
I’d rather just buy Neto for that money. He looked a lot more exciting on that scouting video
Isn’t Watkins better still?
