I love watching basketball and am a Lakers fan! I understand some parts of basketball really well but when it comes to rotations, schemes, and coaching decisions, I don’t really “get it”. A lot of commenters say that Ham has bad schemes and rotations. I see the downsides on the guard heavy lineups, how we wouldn’t have the size etc. What I’m asking for, is for some one to explain to me maybe a time or two from this Kings game or even the Denver game, where we had a bad scheme or the wrong people out there. Just so I know how to spot this or what I’m looking for a why. Genuine question trying to enjoy the game more. Thanks!

TLDR: examples of Ham messing up and why so I get it.

    He’s not very flexible.

His rotations seem set in stone (subs players in and out based off a plan established pre-game).

He benched AR during the close since he was off, that’s good. Great adjustment. Everyone has an off night. Fine.

Rui had 10 points, played maybe 6 min total in the second half from the end of the 3rd, to mid 4th, was the reason they came back, and what did he do? Benched him too.

    That’s just…not good.

It’s great he made adjustments to bench a player having an off night, but not recognizing when a player is playin great, is equally not great.
