These are my predictions for the GoTY nominees. Tell me what you think! I haven’t played BG3 or RE4 yet, but I know how much people enjoyed them and I think they deserve a nomination. Dead Space may also be abit far, but I enjoyed it way much than I thought I would, and it was between that and Diablo 4.
My winner would be ToTK… Everything was perfect about it, down the the little details. Couldn’t of asked for a better game tbh.

Spidey 2 is too rushed and broken to be GOTY. Its fucking insane that Alan Wake 2 isn’t on your list though. Digital Foundry just called it the best looking game of 2023 and a “technological masterpiece”. In my opinion its the Game of the Year. That game fucking rules.

FF16, Starfield, MarioWonder, Armored Core and Diablo could get in here instead of Alan Wake and Street Fighter, but idk, maybe starfield, final fantasy and mario could get a spot somehow?
edit 1: remind yourselves that the nominees are based on popularity too, it’s not only about the quality you think the game has. Starfield had 178 reviews, Final Fantasy 16 had 170 reviews and Diablo 4 had 164 reviews. These games were played by a lot of people and were developed by studios with widely acclaimed games or franchises… Games like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Stars can’t compete with them despite of quality, because popularity is a thing when defining nominees for the big awards.
Its going to be Baldurs Gate 3 vs TOTK.
TOTK will win because its a Zelda game and is legally obligated to win GOTY whenever one is released, but BG3 should absolutely win.
RE4 and Dead Space shouldn’t be here. Remakes / Remasters had their time in the spotlight.
While Totk is my favourite game here, I feel like baldur’s gate 3 deserves it the most, the number of dialogue options, details and things to do in this game make it probably the game that had the highest amount of effort put into it out of anything in the past few years. I don’t think it’s as easy to get into as many other games this year, but it’s definitely the best experience overall.
BG 3 blows all of them out of the water. RE4 was perfect for a resident evil fan and the best remake I’ve ever seen but doesn’t hold up to the countless hours of perfection BG3 offers. Zelda is mostly fun to those who liked the first botw, whereas bg3 truly transcended its genre and tons of non DND/RPG players loved it. The rest are just a joke to even bother comparing for game of the year.

It’ll be Starfield, trust me.
Gonna go with BG3 which felt the most refreshing out of the rest and best bang for buck.
RE4 remake was fun but still a remake, the first Spiderman 2018 was fun but this second ones ok, more of the same.
I played The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild last year was surprisingly great really good fun. I started playing Tears of the Kingdom last night 30-40 minutes in I got bored having recently finished BG3 two days ago it just didn’t hit the same.
Dead Space again a remake done ok I hear. Not played Armored Core heard was ok again not my style of game. So really this year’s GOTY BG3 IMHO.
Man hasn’t played BG3 and thinks TotK is GOTY.
Play BG3 then come back and say it again.
I loved Zelda so much and AC6 too but BG3 takes it, if only to make a statement. That game is so good.

Totally loving Zelda. One of the best games I’ve ever played and I’m in my 40s. I think it should not win due to its closeness with BOTW.
