Watched two matches: Chelsea Vs Brighton & City Vs Tottenham and both games had huge referee-ing errors at the end…How did Brighton not get a corner kick when the ball clearly hits a Chelsea player and goes out the line…And why did the referee stop Silva’s 1v1 chance against Tottenham to award a foul in favour of city…I am neither a brighton nor a city fan but both these decisions angered me so bad…And these smug referees just walk out with their satisfied punchable faces playing with the feelings of the fans and sanctity of our league…This is probably one of the most exciting seasons in recent times and yet we can’t enjoy it to the fullest coz of these incompetent referees…PL should just fire all English referees and import referees from other countries…

In before the inevitable downplaying of a highly suspect decision (referee clearly plays advantage to City late on with the match level only to call the play back for the foul once a City player was put through on goal; all the TV pundits are baffled by the decision, as were the players) that went against City which, if it had happened to Spurs in the game, would have seen rival fans starting 100 threads to scream conspiracy.
Terrible decision in isolation, but I think City had a part to play in it. Earlier in the game the ref played a long advantage and City went absolutely mental at him for not just awarding the free kick. I think his head just went after that trying to second guess what they wanted.
He’s a referee not a premier league level midfielder, I’m also fairly sure he had his back to grealish’s run when he blew the whistle so he didn’t see it. I can understand why everyone is mad, I’d be fuming if that was against us of course but I can absolutely understand it.
For people saying city were robbed, they weren’t, there’s no guarantee grealish even goes on to score that. Robbed would be a clear penalty not being awarded or a goal not being awarded that should’ve stood. (Ie Liverpool were robbed of a goal against us yes).
Also. City’s full strength team (Apart from big Kev) couldn’t beat our second string side… city shouldn’t make excuses, with a player like haaland he should be bullying Davies and Royal all day long
This aside, Son has always owned Man City.
Is there ONE person following football who’s not a fucking cry-baby?! It’s getting so fucking tiring. Every single game, “referee this” “referee that”.
Fucking hell.
The city call, while sucks is completely part of the game. The ref made a split second decision for advantage. You can’t have it both ways. There should be no mistakes with VAR but these on field calls are part of the game
I cannot find another explanation except corruption. That is the reason why PGMOL is heavily criticised.
