Age 8, during the 1981 NFL season (though the first game I remember watching at least in part was Super Bowl 15 in January 1981). Turned 9 years old during the season (today is my “special day” actually).
I remember all 5 of the 49ers’ Super Bowl wins. Joe Montana is actually my all-time favorite non-Eagles NFL player. Liked Ronnie Lott a lot too.
What happened in the 1980s and 1990s is irrelevant now. None of the current 49ers players were on those Super Bowl winning teams, or even in the NFL at that time.
My rule of thumb with pro sports titles is any title over 20 years old is a long time ago and not really relevant. The trophies are dusty. For argument’s sake, they don’t really count anymore. (An alternate way of looking at titles is any title you personally don’t remember/occurred before you followed the league/sports don’t count; you don’t remember them.)
