At least when Ron took it over he had young talent. Now its the same talent but largely in the back half of their prime and overpaid with nothing young to build on top of.

It’s bad now, but people are forgetting how utterly devoid of talent that 2019 team was.

No, the 2019 team heavily featured people like cb1 Quinton Dunbar, and WR2 Steven Sims, it’s hard to dip below that. This roster has more secondary talent, more receiver talent, and a startable quarterback.

I think the roster is worse, EXCEPT I will take Howell over then “Team Capitan” Haskins. That is pretty major. If you are just talking about the Roster, then I think it is close to even because QB play. leadership & talent is so critical.

But on non-Roster related stuff: Ron saw us through the Covid season, & he navigated the name stuff, that is gone. He went to the playoffs and had a DROY and CBPOY. That isn’t nothing. Mainly because He did all this with Snyder in charge. That isn’t something Shanny or Marty could navigate. We know Snyder… it could have been much worse, Pepper Rodgers, Vinnie Cerrato anyone? Ron didn’t have any of that that we know about. The poison middle school girl stuff: anonymously shit talking former players/employees stopped.

His record of +/- .500 ball with an occasional sneak into the playoffs really has been the on the field story of the franchise for +8 seasons. Ultimately he didn’t change that. He took over a 3-13 team and will prob leave a 3/4 win Team.

Way worse. Ron’s drafting has been a disaster when you think about it. Player development has been a disaster too.

Honestly, it’s about the same. Oline got worse but we improved in other areas. Howell is the best QB we’ve had since Kirk imo. Brian Robinson is REALLY good, EB hates running. Curtis Samuel and Logan Thomas are good. I think Forbes is good he had some bad games, but he’s a rookie being tasked with 1on1 coverage with AJ Brown, lol. I’m still high on Forbes.

The problem is coaching. The players are grown men, but you can’t expect them to overcome poor coaching and losing culture. For example, St Juste isn’t a stud CB, but he’s better than Josh Norman getting burned by DeSean Jackson even though he was playing 17 yards off.

If Howell becomes our franchise QB Ron deserves all the credit.
