1·1 year agoI dont know how anyone can be confident in saying we need to build around Sam with the way he has been playing the past few weeks. He has had multiple dropped INTs that have preceding eventual scores making his numbers look even better than they are.
Week 12 sam howell volume-adjusted stats:
- passer rating: 20th
- QBR: 21st
- points above average: 19th
- Average yards/attempt: 22nd
- Completion %: 14th
- Any/A: 26th

Im very aware that we are looking at a 3-4 year rebuild
Close to me is solid playoff candidate (wild card or divisional winner) and the belief of “yeah they’ll win a playoff game” only 4 teams make conference championships (that’s top 12.5% of the league) I’d be happy being top 25% of the league (divisional round regular)
I personally dont think it takes a whole lot to be playoff contenders. Ron attempted to do that and was largely successful at it with bad QB play

I think this is a stretch. The roster IMO is abysmal.
Personally I think the roster is an abomination. Close to me means close to competing for championships. There’s pretty much no young talent to build around. Our best pieces are nearly all on second contracts already. Most of the rookie contract players brought on by Ron and Co will be moved on from.
I think it will take 2-3 years to get the roster into a good spot to compete for the playoffs. I think a tear down of the complete roster is coming. Another 1-3 years after that to get the team to compete for SBs. The roster has zero elite talent right now and it needs at least a few pieces to get going.

I just dont see much of it. Pretty much to me it looks like the quick turn around people are the ones super high on Howell.

Good thing they have like another 9 picks and 80 mil in cap space to start to build an Oline.
The fan base is full of burgundy tinted glasses. Ashburn syndrome is rampant. With how dreadful our QBs have been a lot of fans fall in love with any flash of mediocre QB and misunderstanding it as great
I cant see us winning another game and has us drafting top 4.
Us late 80 early 90 babies have had it the worst

I don’t think you know what you’re watching is the problem lol. Time watched doesn’t equal knowledge.
The largest issue is this fan base and its obsession with any sort of flash of QB and absolutely loses its mind. It has zero idea how to evaluate QBs, their place with in the league, or really what a QB means. The fact that so many people are ok building around a Kirk, a Taylor or a Sam just proves that the large majority of the fan base are utter morons who don’t understand football at the most basic level.
You want to compete for SBs? Go find an elite QB. Want to wallow in mediocrity and battle for playoff spots? Go for a mid level QB. Have fun in your mediocrity.
