How much longer could I have gone with these ?

    Yeah I would say change them. Either way it’s not crazy expensive to have them swapped. Better to do it now than to forget, next thing you know you’re braking with metal on metal which is no good for your rotors, getting those replaced is not so cheap. Not to mention that’s absurdly dangerous

    Based on the picture and not having a clue about vehicle and your driving habits, I can say with certainty that you could have left them in until they’re worn down.

    Yes you should change them. Can you still use those yes, but brakes are kinda like gasoline… you can’t use them out completely and then change them… you will have to take them off when they still have a bit of life left in them… if I may add a suggestion and I’ll tell you right now I’m no mechanic. BUT!!! I change my own oil and I change my own brakes. YouTube is your friend. On top of that both AutoZone and O’Rielly’s auto part stores give a lifetime warranty on the brake pads. All you do is return with about 30-40% life still in them and you get a new pair for free. So do it!!! Learn how to change them suckers out it’s no biggie!
