I have a question to ask all the doomers in this sub.

When has tanking ever, even once, led to continued success. Hell, when has it resulted in even momentary success.

What have the 76ers accomplished since the process?

What did the colts do in the Luck era?

Why would any competent, intelligent sports club ever start fucking tanking.

Good teams don’t care where they draft, because good teams can develop and scout talent.

What guarantees having a higher draft pick QB will be better? The data doesn’t agree.

Another thing. The season is far from over. We have an incredibly easy schedule, we have a great Oline, incredible weapons, the defense is improving every week. This is a good football team.

Jaren hall has 4 games against the NFLs bottom feeders. He’ll be given every opportunity to prove himself. By extension, Kevin O’Connell will as well.

This is all without mentioning the 3rd wild card spot exists, that spot is going to us, the saints, or falcons.

I think some people are hyper focused believing that there are 3 QB’s who are guaranteed studs. They see Joe Burrow and believe that the solution to all the Vikings problems is a top 5 draft pick. The truth is even if we try to tank we likely won’t be a top 5 pick(we’d be lucky to be 7 or 8) and there are NO guarantees

Caleb Williams seems like way too much drama for me, wanting ownership of the team? He hasn’t even played a down of NFL football yet. He may be a stud but I don’t know that he is worth it.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t draft a QB. Mahomes was drafted late 1st round. What annoys me a little is how some Vikings fans pretend there are never or rarely underwhelming QB’s drafted early. I have seen them scoff at the idea of a guy like Kenny Pickett as our QB(he was an early draft pick). Maybe having a top 5 pick gives us a little hope but it is always a gamble.

Again, I’m not against drafting a QB in the first round and if we truly did stink wouldn’t be opposed to drafting one early but anyone who wants to tank for the pick to me isn’t a real fan

We are past the point of tanking after winning big games but don’t hate on tanking. Sixers are continuously in the playoffs, compare them to wizards who were riding hard with beal to stay in middle of the pack. The dolphins are finally competitive after embracing the tank. Right now the bears are a laughing stock. But if they hit on marvin harrison jr and caleb williams, we could be looking at a monster for the next 5-10 years there.

Theoretically, a higher pick should lead to a better player, but I agree that tanking is bad.

    1. Losing = bad locker room and players hating their situation
    2. Losing does not guarantee that you will hit on a QB
    3. You can lose when your players have no incentive to lose, blowing up this current team doesn’t make sense.

We have a system in place, and can make minor adjustments, we can make the Playoffs and still get “our guy” later in the draft or trade up. Simple as that
