In this scenario, we give Eugene more minutes and grab another big from the G or from FA. In this scenario, we likely get salary filler or a TPE attached to maybe a few draft swaps, a late first, or a handful of seconds. If we are lucky maybe we get a raw prospect. We also have a better chance at the #1 pick.
Gafford is a microwave player, but not the longterm solution for any team at big. His optimal role would be off the bench for a contender providing energy, rim-protection, and rim-running in spurts. Kinda like a worse Javale McGee.
I like Eugene but he’s like an extreme discount version of PJ Tucker. He’s there to eat up garbage time minutes, but he’s older that Gafford and small for his position. Not really a guy you want to focus on.
Realistically age doesn’t matter. Neither Gafford or Eugene should be long term centers for us. If we want an older big it should ideally be a great pick setter and locker room guy.
Also Gafford isn’t in the way of Eugene minutes ? They don’t play the same position
If someone offers a big time, no-brainer overpay then trade him.
Otherwise no.

He liked my instagram comment the other day so how could I possibly betray him
Surprised people wouldn’t trade Gafford for draft capital. I love big dandan don’t get me wrong but everyone is for sale outside of bilal this season for me. I don’t think gafford has star potential and if someone gave us a good deal he should be straight out the door.
gafford isn’t even starter material, let alone a star. they should absolutely trade him for any positive value if someone is desperate enough to take his contract.
Eugene is empty calories
