This trade works for both parties. We got the depth we have been looking for since the process days and the clippers get the stars (Harden, Westbrook) to carry them thru to the playoffs.

Powell would have been nice, Mann would have been nice, but we got players that fit the style Nick Nurse is trying to establish. DHOs out the wazzu with the wings we got.

I just don’t get it so hopefully someone can explain how this doesn’t help our win now mentality.

    1. Offloaded Harden without taking on any long term contracts
    2. Received 2 First Round Picks
    3. Added 4 decent rotational players
    4. Added a couple second rounders and a pick swap for good measure
    5. Got rid of that dumb PJ Tucker contract

Is this a homerun? No. But it’s a solid double into the gap.

If Maxey can continue his ascendance then the Sixers can compete for a chip this season. There’s also plenty of ammunition for a deadline trade as well as $60 million in cap space to play with.

Harden is a 34-year-old team cancer. The fact that the Sixers managed to offload him while keeping the window alive and well for Embiid is nothing short of a miracle.

That being said, a lot of this falls on Maxey. Let’s hope his start is for real.

What u/biggulpshuh_alright meant to say was three traditional rotation players. The fourth rotation player is being able to avoid Marcus Morris attacking Embiid when they play the Clippers.
