I’m wishing all people working in retail & restaurants nothing but the best!
Your feelings of hatred & loathing towards the masses are absolutely valid. 🙏
This is accurate. Words cannot express the hate and loathing I had for specific guests when I worked as a server.
I somehow managed to come off as friendly and cheerful, though.
“Unskilled labor” my fucking ass!
I don’t think anyone has ever considered waiting tables to be unskilled labor. It takes a lot of different skills to be a waiter, and it’s an in-demand job, often highly competitive. Back in college I tried unsuccessfully for years to get a server position at this swanky restaurant that would have meant I’d make $55+k a year, working 12 hours per week in the 90’s. My friend got a job there and was basically rich, working less than half the week.
I was poor as fuck. I couldn’t afford insurance, and I could barely afford rent. I don’t even know what I’d do if I earned 55k a year. That’s unfathomable to me.
I had to pass six written tests and a practical to serve tables, though. I had been not rehired because my employer learned I was gay, so I did what I had to do to stay with my now-husband.
I’m sorry that happened to you. Hopefully you’re doing better now.
Bridgewater Virginia?
Gdansk Poland?
We’re mentioning random cities/towns, right?
It says Bridgewater on the card…
D’oh! My bad! Must have been tired or distracted lol
I was about to ask Bridgewater. Realistically many places have probably been named after bridges and/or water
But why not search it then? A quick search with name and place has shown NJ. Logo also fits
Red Lobster is a huge chain…
Well, if they have restaurant in more than one Bridgewater searching won’t help and I was wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I worked retail and food for decades so I get it but also sometimes staff are in a terrible headspace before you get to them. I don’t try to make it worse but if you can’t deal with idiots in your job you really need to find a different game.
