This team had an absolute ceiling of 7-10, 8-9 with this regime. Harris wants a sustainable, long term contender. For once we are finally tearing it down and starting fresh with an analytical mindset.

The situation is disappointing because there was such high hope for Young in 2020. He was supposed to be this generational pass rusher like Julius Peppers. His rookie year gave so much hope, but a sophomore slump coupled with a VERY slow return from injury put his career on a very different trajectory.

When we got a high 2nd for Sweat, I thought we could get something similar for Young, possibly higher if there were contingencies about his new team resigning him or tagging him. Young does have a higher ceiling than Sweat. But this pick will probably be around 90th overall, probably more than 50 picks lower than the return for Sweat. I have questions as to whether or not the return is worth it.

I’m surprised Rivera made this move. The high 2nd for Sweat made sense if he’s trying to make a play to keep his job. The return on this just seems too low and almost like an F you.

I definitely see that this needed to happen, just wish we got a little more for Chase Young. Happy he went to a bowl contender and will miss him. Feels like the Tez trade is really good though
