  • If he gets a HC opportunity, he will be an amazing coach or an abysmal coach. I don’t see there being anything in between. The number of HC jobs he hasn’t been hired for despite his qualifications makes it pretty clear that there’s something about him that makes front offices uncomfortable. I’m convinced that whatever that “something” will ultimately dictate how well does.

  • I’m all for letting Wright go. The rebranding alone was cause. The Sean Taylor “memorial” was insult to injury.

In his defense, he has no say in anything football related. Also, the Snyders were working on the stadium. When Wright was hired, part of the announcement was that the decision was made so the Snyders could devote their time exclusively to getting a new stadium.

  • I would problem lose a substantial amount of interest in the team.

I’m used to having bad teams. I’m an O’s fan and I don’t care about hockey, so the only time I ever witnessed one of my teams win a championship was Maryland basketball, and I was only nine (9). Being accustomed to bad teams, I know that I’m never going to stop being a fan. And having a team having a bad season or bad stretch of seasons may not even make me care less.

But, a shitty rebrand coupled with a mediocre product and Snyder’s toxicity made me step back significantly last year. It wasn’t conscious, but there were a number of instances where I chose to do something other than watch them on Sundays. Five years ago I would have never imagined willingly missing a game.

The sale reenergized my fandom. I understood going into the year that if we had a bad season, changes were probably not going to be made until after the season. While I’m incredibly frustrated with this team, I get waiting to do anything.

After this season, it’s clear substantial change is necessary. Resigning RR would show ownership doesn’t care. If ownership doesn’t care, why should I?

  • The situation is disappointing because there was such high hope for Young in 2020. He was supposed to be this generational pass rusher like Julius Peppers. His rookie year gave so much hope, but a sophomore slump coupled with a VERY slow return from injury put his career on a very different trajectory.

When we got a high 2nd for Sweat, I thought we could get something similar for Young, possibly higher if there were contingencies about his new team resigning him or tagging him. Young does have a higher ceiling than Sweat. But this pick will probably be around 90th overall, probably more than 50 picks lower than the return for Sweat. I have questions as to whether or not the return is worth it.

I’m surprised Rivera made this move. The high 2nd for Sweat made sense if he’s trying to make a play to keep his job. The return on this just seems too low and almost like an F you.
