I don’t fully understand schemes and stuff for football. I’m just curious as to why the offense doesn’t work. Maybe a breakdown? If anyone can completely understand. Cause everyone’s talking shit but no explanations.
We’re basically half way through the season. What changed the most on offense? New QB. So many people said Jimmy G was a lateral move. That seems to be wrong. We had a top 12 scoring offense last season with Carr. This season we have the 30th worst scoring offense. And really, the only thing that changed negatively is QB. I would say we even upgraded WR with Jakobi.
The only thing that seems to work in the last four weeks or so is featuring the tight ends. But we seem uninterested in emphasizing them more than 1-2 drives per game.
OL and QB. Last year, OL play was deceived because we had deep ball threats, and Josh was able to run in space. This year, Jimmy can’t throw and they stack the box so Jacobs can’t run. OL plays the same, but this time, they’re asked to block more people in the box. They just both suck equally.
I can’t stand McDaniels and want him gone. To be fair…last couple of games isn’t all on him. Times the correct playcalling was made and failed miserably due to terrible execution by players. In fact the lions game a perfect example. Adams should have had 2 or 3 TDs that game but Jimmy couldn’t make the throws.
Pretty simple, Jimmy stinks. Defenses know if they cover 15-20 yards down the middle of the field, Jimmy can’t do anything but check it down. No need to cover deep, no need to cover outside the numbers.
Yep, he’s been beyond terrible.
