We are a nation of rules and the rules are boring. Embrace that. In times of difficulty, go with the boring option. When faced with a frightening crisis, tamp it down with ultra-boring moves. No matter what, stick with the rules.

I can’t avoid talking about Donald Trump but I’m going to make it brief. I know you don’t like him; neither do I. But let’s assume he’s only a politician. He’s not Hitler, Godzilla or the Beast of the Apocalypse—just a guy with a loud mouth and a desperate need for attention. Most Americans think of him that way.

This is not about him. It’s about you.

Let’s not assume he’s “only” a politician since he incited an insurrection directly against the most salient Democratic process in the country, committed electoral fraud, declared ethnic bans, and had expressed admiration for dictators and explicitly has stated his intention to be a dictator.

He isn’t " just some guy", he’s a piece of s*** wannabe dictator with terrible domestic and even worse foreign policies. Or maybe terrible foeign and even worse domestic policies.

You sound triggered and emotional. I’m no Trump fan but the moral outrage drama surrounding him is just as excessive as he is himself

The outrage against trump is a perfectly justified and measured response to his behavior and stated intentions.

Trump is a rapist, he directly tried to commit electoral fraud more than once, he convinced others to forge election documents, without even touching his awful policies.

Nobody cares if you are a “trump fan”, giving Trump another chance is a vote in support of rape. You’re giving direct electoral fraud and the attack on American representative democracy another chance.

No, being upset that millions of people support rape and electoral fraud is not excessive, it is perfectly rational.

          Trump is a rapist

Do what? He has never been convicted of rape.

I would ask for a cite but I know you can’t find one for that.

In the article titled “Judge clarifies: Yes, Trump was found to have raped E. Jean Carroll”, the judge who presided over that case states in an interview:

“The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape,’ ” Kaplan wrote.

He added: “Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”

I know you’re just trying to be disingenuous and really find a way to support rape and excuse a rapist, but it’s not going to work.

There was evidence, trump was found liable for rape, and he’s paying a civil settlement for committing rape.

The judge is wrong. A civil trial cannot determine a criminal crime. Sounds like when this is appealed, this is a good ground to have the case overturned.

The jury said she was not raped and to me, that is the end of the discussion.

I agree with the jury. Guess you don’t like our legal system since you think the jury is wrong.

The jury and judge agree that Trump committed what in new York is called “sexual assault” by violently forcing his hands inside Carroll’s vagina without consent.

                    That is rape.

Or are you just advocating your support for “invasive sexual assault”?

You sound confused about what a convict is, since you keep using that word that does not apply here.

When you are in a criminal case and are found responsible for a criminal act, you are given the title “convict”.

When you are in a civil case, and you are found responsible for an act, you do not use the title “convict”, but use the term “liable”.

The jury and judge looked at the evidence, decided Trump committed rape, and in a civil case, found him liable for what in a couple of states, including New York, must be defined as “sexual assault” instead of rape.

The judge went out of his way to clarify that Trump did commit rape, since violently forcing your hand inside someone without their consent is rape.
